THE OPPORTUNITY CORNER

                                                                   

While I hesitate to use the word "bargain" to describe any acquisition of art, there are times and situations when this label seems fitting.  It doesn't happen often, and yes - what may seem like a "bargain" to one person may just seem like a fair market price to another.  But to the owner of such artworks that distinction is irrelevant, because they are interested in only one outcome  . . .  a sale!  And they don't have the time, inclination, or energy to wait for the most they can get for it. 

Doesn't matter what category of the five BIG D's (Death, Divorce, Destitution, Dislike or Downsizing) has triggered that desire to sell: all that matters is that the seller has no interest in holding on any longer, and they want me to find them a buyer, "pronto".  Which is why and how these pieces come to be listed here.  All have spent weeks, sometimes months or even years listed under my regular categories of art - sprinkled among the hundreds that are listed - and at prices that I (and the owner) have thought were fair.  But now the time has come to find new homes for them, and that's irrelevant.  I could be listing these on eBay (and I still reserve the option to do that, to get the art more exposure) and as a last resort, the owners could choose to withdraw them from sale - and likely will after some period of time.  But before that happens I have decided to establish this way of separating these "opportunities" from all the other artworks I offer - in effect, giving YOU first dibs on fantastic values in art - before pursuing more drastic measures.     

 

DISCOUNTS ARE BASED ON THE HISTORICAL LIST PRICES AND THE DISCOUNTS OFFERED ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Some offerings here are from estates and/or beneficiaries of artworks that the heirs do not wish to keep; others come from collectors who have grown impatient to sell.  Whatever the motivation for needing to speed up the process, new "forever" homes are needed  for all the works listed - which means an opportunity for YOU!    

       

Again, and to be clear: all pieces listed here are carrying the prices at which they previously have been offered for sale - and which NOW are the starting point for ALL discounted offers.
