This is an original vintage painting by Walter Velez (1939-2018) used for the cover of the 1949 fantasy novel by John Myer Myers, a "rollicking adventure (that) begins with a shipwreck on an island where notable characters of literature, history, and folklore coexist"  Published by Ace, 1979 (I show the cover for your reference).  One of the earliest I am able to offer by Velez, with character rendered with an incredible amount of detail - fantastic in every way -  and handpainted in acrylic on stretched canvas, 26" x 15" and is signed by Velez.
