This is an original painting by Walter Velez (1939-2018) for the fantasy alternate history novel by Nick O'Donohue set in WW2, published by Ace Books 1999 (I show the cover for reference) Walter's sense of humor and imagination really captures the brilliant premise of the story: what if the success of the American war machine in World War II depends upon a small band of dwarves being able to keep themselves hidden, and also protected from their historic enemy, the gnomes?  Handpainted in acrylic on illustration board, 15" x 10" and signed by Velez.
