MacAvoy's "Damiano" series of novels: Damiano, Damiano's Lute, and Raphael - The saga of Damiano Delstrego, a young wizard's son tutored in music by the Archangel Raphael, set amid the turbulence of fourteenth-century Europe.   Published by Doubleday SF Book Club, 1984 (I show the cover for reference) Beautiful and dramatic artwork,  handpainted in acrylic on stretched canvas, 30" x 20" and signed by Velez.
