Robert A. Osbornel: Action at Three Peaks

This is an original vintage painting by Robert A. Osborne (1923-1980) created for the Frank O’Rourke western novel published by Corgi (UK 720) first edition paperback, 1954.  Signed "RAO" in initials bottom left in the painting, which depicts a US Cavalryman with a sword fighting off "the savage Apache hordes" to quote the cover - it's quite the stylish image - Osborne was known for his talent in drawing human figures and expressive faces - painted in gouache on board, 16.5" x 13.5" matted and framed to 23" x 20" and a copy of the paperback comes with the purchase.
