Richard Powers: "King's Head"

This is an original collage by Powers in white crayon/chalk on black paper, undated c. late 1970s  - a very detailed center portion suggests this was possibly a preliminary for a published cover Image or more likely planned for use an an interior illustration - very similar to the artwork for the magazine serialization of Spider and Jeanne Robinson’s Stardance and Stardance II in Analog Science Fiction/Science Fact magazine during 1977 and 1978.  Dimensions are approx 21" x 23" mounted on a sheet of illustration board.
