Richard Bober: Cleo portrait in profile

This is an original artwork, one of several studies of Cleopatra Richard created in preparation for a potential commission from The Bradford Exchange for a series of collector plates commission, 1999.  He pursued various "incarnations" of the famous Queen, including this portrait using none other than Elizabeth Taylor as the model! It's a gorgeous stylized interpretation blending Bober's classical approach with modern touches in her make-up -  Strongly done and beautifully rendered in oil on rag paper, 15.25" x 11.5" and is signed by Bober in the image on her shoulder.
