Linda Michaels: "Winged Lion"

This original painting of a reclining mythological Winged Lion is a lovely example of Linda's style and artistry, dating back to the late 1980s.  Here "heraldry" contributes to the composition, creating a wonderful back-drop for the Lion.  Michaels is known for her captivating takes on (especially) on animals featured in fantasy literature (e.g, wolves, lions, birds of prey, etc) making her artworks over the years a very popular and recognizable addition to the art exhibits a fantasy and science fiction conventions in and around the Northeast states of NY, PA and MA.   Painted in acrylic and watercolor on paper, c. 10" x 7" matted and framed to 14.5" X 11.5"  and is signed in logo inititals bottom right in the image.
