John Berkey: "The Square Root of Pyththagoras" prelim

This is an original preliminary painting by John Berkey (1932-2008), one of a handful from a private collection returning to the market for the first time in 22 years.  This prelim was created in preparation for completing the final art for the story by Paul di Filippo and Rudy Rucker, published in Science Fiction Age Magazine, November issue, 1999.   The art is painted in casein and acrylic on  illustration board,  12.5" x "7.75" and is signed "Berkey" lower right.  Beautifully rendered and fully representative of Berkey's style.
