John Berkey: "Taxi Dancer" prelim

This is an original preliminary painting by John Berkey (1932-2008), one of a handful from a private collection returning to the market for the first time in 22 years.  This prelim was created in preparation for completing the final art for the 1985 debut novel by Joseph Heywood about jet fighter pilots flying dangerous bombing missions during the Vietnam War, published by Berkley (I show the cover for reference)  The art is painted in casein and acrylic on  illustration board,  12.5" x 7.5" and is signed "Berkey" lower right.  Colorful and detailed, Great visual effect and fully representative of Berkey's style.
