Jack Gaughan: The Child's Story

This is a rare opportunity to own ALL FOUR original "paste-up" sheets comprising Richard A. Lupoff's short story "The Child's Story" which appeared in Cosmos Science Fiction Magazine issue for September 1977 (Vol 1, #3).  Back in the day, that was how magazines were printed: scans were made of identical sized sheets of heavy paper 13.5" x 19" (a size calculated to yield - after printing - double page sheets to trim and bind into a magazine of 11" x 8.5" size) to which the text and art was "pasted" (glued) down.  Again, this purchase is for all four sheets, comprising the entire story which appeared on double page spreads pp. 26- 32 of the magazine.  All the original artwork is by Gaughan, done in black/white acrylic on paper mounted to the top of each 13.5" x 19" sheet, with the first title page art signed by him in his typical initials, "JG" bottom right.  I also show the table of contents page where he is credited for the art.   Gaughan was the Art Director for the magazine and contributed many images to the issues, both large - as here, 1/3 page - and spot drawings.  The top page is covered tracing paper containing printer instructions, and an acetate overlay with some text, which covers the original art and title.   If you need to see further photos of each of the pages as published, I can provide that (I have a copy of the magazine - and it can easily be found online)  This is a unique piece of science fiction literary history, from a publication period never to be seen again, and rarely seen or available for sale.
