This is the original cover painting for the historical romance novel by William Blain,  published by Corgi, 1993  (I show the published cover for reference) Based on historical facts, the story follows a fictional Dundee family through the generations during a period of Dundee/Scottish history (1600's thru to 1800's)  Painted in landscape "wraparound" format, it's a wonderful scene of the Scottish coast and character, and very impressive in size.... gouache and acrylic on illustration board, 15" x 21.5"  and comes with a label attesting to its authenticity signed by Pether's widow, mounted to the back.
