This original illustration was used for the cover of Catherine Cookson's romance novel, the 1st in her Kate Hannigan series, published in paperback by Corgi, 1984.  Cookson excelled in telling stories which dealt with turn of the century stories set in towns like Liverpool,  see the costumes and Edwardian scene.    Painted in gouache and acrylic on illustration board, 9" x 9" in excellent condition, and comes with a label affixed to the back attesting to authenticity.
