In the 1980s Dave Pether started producing several paintings for the weekend British TV series called London Weekend Television (LWT) - well known for showing American films and TV show series as well as British ones.   The images were used for intro titles as well as backgrounds for commercial breaks.  Most would have been used 1983-1987.    This one was commissioned for the Sean Connery film "The Next Man"  and it's handpainted in Gouache and acrylic on illustration board with an acetate overlay that shows the text, 15.75" x  14"  and comes with a label attesting to authenticity signed by Pether's widow, mounted to the back.   Star power here!!
