Dave Pether: Nobody Runs Forever

In the 1980s Dave Pether started producing several paintings for the weekend British TV series called London Weekend Television (LWT) - well known for showing American films and TV show series as well as British ones.   The images were used for intro titles as well as backgrounds for commercial breaks.  Most would have been used 1983-1987, and several still have the acetate overly showing the titles -as this one does.  "Nobody Runs Forever" (also called The High Commissioner) was a 1968 British political neo noir spy thriller action film  starring Rod Taylor.  Handpainted in gouache and acrylic on illustration board, 10.5" x 12.5" in great condition, and comes with a label on the back attesting to authenticity, signed by Pether's widow.
