Original book cover illustration for one of several wartime/combat novels relating to WW2 by well-known author Leo Kessler (pseud Charles Whiting) that Pether illustrated for Futura Books in the 1970s. This one was published 1974 (cover shown for reference).    Hand-painted in Acrylic and gouache on illustration board - 17" x 11.25" and comes with a label attesting to its authenticity signed by Pether's widow, mounted to the back.  Pether did more than a dozen such paintings by authors well-known for their thrilling military adventure novels....and every book cover illustration I offer is unique - so if you want this one, don't hesitate.
