Original vintage cover painting, used to illustrate "Dark Quartet: The Story of the Brontes" - a biographical novel based on the lives of Charlotte, Emily, Anne and Branwell Brontë - by Lynne Reid Banks, published by Corgi, 1978.  (I show the published cover for reference) Dramatically handpainted in Gouache and acrylic on illustration board,  16" x  11.25"  and comes with a label attesting to authenticity signed by Pether's widow, mounted to the back.   Very handsomely rendered, great visual effect.
