Original book cover illustration for one of several wartime/combat novels relating to WW2 by well-known author Leo Kessler (pseud Charles Whiting) that Pether illustrated for Futura Books in the 1970s. This one was published 1978 (cover shown for reference).   This one was also published under the title "Storm Troop" - with a different cover by Pether.  Hand-painted in Acrylic and gouache on illustration board - 14.5" x 12.25" with a label attesting to its authenticity signed by Pether's widow, mounted to the back.  Pether did more than a dozen such paintings by authors well-known for their thrilling military adventure novels.  I am listing only a sampling, if you are interested in this genre and want to see ones not listed, contact me.  But bear in mind every book cover illustration I offer is unique - so if you want this one, don't hesitate.
