Original vintage book cover illustration for one of several wartime/combat novels relating to WW2 that Pether illustrated in his long career.  This one was written by Robert Jackson and published 1974 in paperback by Tandem UK (cover shown for reference).   Detailed and wonderfully rendered in Acrylic and gouache on illustration board 14.25" x 7.25" and comes with a label attesting to its authenticity signed by Pether's widow, mounted to the back.  Pether did more than a dozen such paintings by authors well-known for their thrilling military adventure novels.  I am listing only a sampling, if you are interested in this genre and want to see ones not listed, contact me.  But bear in mind every book cover illustration I offer is unique - so if you want this one, don't hesitate.
