This is the original preliminary art created for Book #1 in Barbara Hambly's "Windrose Chronicles" - a novel where magic and technology collide, published by Del Rey/Ballantine 1986 (Ishow the cover for reference) Great wizard and creature, I would have loved to see this fun image on the cover! Handpainted in acrylic on illustration board, 7" x 4.25"  and it's titled by Darrell on the reverse.
