This is an original cover illustration for Book #2 in Jack Chalker's "Quintara Marathon" series,  published in paperback by Baen, 1999 (see the cover for reference).  It's a classic iconic SF cover by DKS,  great visual effect and expression, handpainted in acrylic on gypsum board, 24" x 16"  and signed.
