This is the original preliminary painting for Book #2 in Mercedes Lackey's "Bardic Voices" fantasy novel series,  published by Baen, 1994  (I show the cover for reference)  It's practically a mini version of the cover, a strong image with fine characters done in acrylics on upson board, 7" x 4.25"  and is signed and titled by Darrell on the reverse.
