This is one of two original preliminary paintings prepared for the Art Director before completing the final art for Mark A. Garland's fantasy fiction novel, published by Baen, 1997.   (see the cover for reference).  This is the scene chosen for the cover - and it's very colorful with great details in acrylic on illustration board, 7" x 4.25"  and is signed and dated on the reverse.
