This is one of two original preliminary paintings prepared for the Art Director before completing the final art for Mark A. Garland's fantasy fiction novel, published by Baen, 1997.   (see the cover for reference).  Dynamic composition that would have made a terrific cover - Very nicely rendered with great details in acrylic on illustration board, 7" x 4.25"  and is signed and dated on the reverse.
