This is the original preliminary artwork created for the vintage science fiction novel by Frank Herbert, published by Del Rey, 1977 (I show the cover as reference). Note how closely this one matches the final art on the cover!  Great alien characters, done in acrylic on illustration board, 7" x 4.25" !
