This is the Original preliminary art created for the cover of Book #3 of the Giants trilogy by James P. Hogan, published by Ballantine 1981 (I show the published cover for reference)   It's slightly different ship, but it's being pulled into the same black hole - great visual effect for SF painting, both final and prelim!  Handpainted in acrylic on illustration board, 7" x 4.25" and signed and titled on the reverse.
