This is the original preliminary art created for what I believe is the last of Harry Turtledove's amusing fantasy novels published by Baen, 1997, featuring "Gerin the Fox" . . . who "is not your usual 'sword and sorcery' hero (but rather) a man of learning and progressive thinking in a land of illiteracy and ignorance."  (I show the cover for reference - the final art is still available as of this posting!) Detailed and excellently rendered by DKS, handpainted in acrylic on illustration board, 7" x 4.25"  and it's titled, signed and dated by Darrell on the reverse.
