Original preliminary artwork created the cover illustration commissioned for Paul O.Williams' Book #5 of the Pelbar cycle, published by Ballantine Del Rey 1983 (book  shown for reference only). This is an intriguing alternate concept for the cover,  done in acrylic on illustration board 7" x 4.25" and it's titled by Darrell on the back.
