This is the original preliminary painting created for the novel by Vilhelm Moberg, published by Popular Library in paperback, 1965 (I show the cover for reference)  One of Darrell's earliest assignments, nicely done in acrylics on illustration board, 7" x 4.25"  and is titled on the reverse.
