This is an original painting created for the cover of a historical romance novel by Elizabeth Goudge, published by Coronet, in paperback 1991.  Fred produced a number of book covers for this well-known British author - this title is Book #1 of Goudge's famous trilogy of novels about the Eliots of Damerosehay, set in the autumn of 1938, just a few years before the book was published in 1940.  Great setting and portrait of a beauty in "wraparound" landscape format, in acrylic on illustration board, 18" x 24.5"  and comes signed.
