Original vintage cover painting for the WW2 war novel by Leo Kessler (pseud. Charles Whiting) who wrote many such novels, several of which carried covers painted by Dave Pether in the 1970s - all of them dynamic and exciting - just like the stories - and this is one of the best.   This one, published by Futura, 1977.    Hand-painted in Acrylic and gouache on illustration board  10.25" x 14.25" and comes with a label attesting to authenticity signed by Pether's widow, mounted to the back.
