In the 1980s Dave Pether started producing several paintings for the weekend British TV series called London Weekend Television (LWT) - well known for showing American films and TV show series as well as British ones. The images were used for intro titles as well as backgrounds for commercial breaks. Most would have been used 1983-1987. This one still has the original acetate overlay showing the title - a bit dusty/cloudy - but still interesting for historical reasons/provenance, and can be removed, of course, for framing. This one, created for memorable film starring Robert Redford and Barbra Streisand is hand-painted in Acrylic and gouache on illustration board 12.5" x 16.5" and comes with a label attesting to its authenticity signed by Pether's widow, mounted to the back.
