This is the original cover painting created to illustrate Marcia Muller's "McCone and Friends" featuring short stories told by characters developed in the novels and stories by Muller featuring Sharon McCone - creator of the modern female private eye story, and published by Crippen & Landru 2000 (I show the published cover for reference)  A major feature of the cover, and incredibly appealing - is the depiction of what looks to be a 1930-40s Deco-style Regal Seeburg Symphonola Jukebox - which played 78’s and was beloved by visitors to Diners across America, once upon a time.  Who can resist this bit of nostalgia?  Handpainted in acrylics on unstretched canvas, 23" x 16" and signed by Heyer.
